This is a breathtaking Black Lagoon Jasper Knife. Standsbyriver, here at the trading post made this one. Flintknapper Mike Cook, knapped this gemstone blade. He has been flint knapping for over 30 years. He lives in Southern Michigan and specializes in knapping collectible points, blades and knives from gem-quality stone, as well as precious opal arrowhead jewelry. Notched points, fluted points, bird points
The handle is antler with a wood capped end, made by Robert Roberts. He makes the nicest knife handles I have ever seen. The blade is glued in and wrapped with genuine deer leg sinew. It is 11 1/2" long over all and the blade is 5 3/4" long. All our blades are nicely displayed and the display comes with the knife. This one is a black walnut slab that has been sanded and finished to hold it's beautiful color. The bottom has pads to prevent scratching the furniture. This knife rest on a deer antler and the blade sits on a hand carved bone arrowhead. This is a rare and beautiful piece and photo's do not do it justice.
